Bio

I have been teaching at WHOM since 1997. I love teaching students of all ages. My goal is to give students the tools necessary to become lifelong trumpet players.

Music Education:

I have a degree in Music Education from UW-Whitewater.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience has primarily been in the studio setting at WHOM. I enjoy getting to know my students, not only to find out where they are at, but also where they want to go with their playing.

Styles Taught:

I am comfortable teaching students of all ages the skills necessary to be in a concert band, jazz band, pep band or most any ensemble. I also focus on preparing for the solo and ensemble competition each spring. I am not equipped to teach students how to solo in a jazz band.

Methods Taught:

I have used all of the basic band books used by the school districts around Milwaukee. I will usually work out of the books the schools use unless there is a special circumstance. I use a variety of resources for more advanced students to focus on both technique and musicality.
