Bio
I have been interested in music my whole life and started on piano around the age of 7. I was given a violin after a sibling decided they didn’t want to take lessons that had been set up for them and have been playing now for 27 years. I love working with the more unlikely students of the violin. I love working with kids especially. I am very flexible in my teaching style. I think everyone can learn a little differently so I work very hard to listen to my student and give them the space to study in the way that they learn best. I have worked with children with disabilities as well and loved seeing the joy on their faces when they were able to do things that others said they couldn’t. I think everyone should have an opportunity to play music, and that it has a special power to heal and bring a deep joy to the soul.
Music Education:
All my education was under private music teachers. When I didn’t have access to teachers I taught myself to play by listen to Joshua Bell and Jascha Heifetz. Their vibrato especially spoke to me and I spent many years trying to copy their styles and the intricacy of their work. I studied violin and performance under Beverly Murk and later studied voice and performance under David Midboe.
Teaching Experience:
I started teaching when I was 18 years old and started my own business playing various gigs. After I moved to Southern Wisconsin I started with WHOM the fall of 2019 and have been with them on and off ever since.
